The Multi-Engine rating can be commenced at any stage, however is normally completed at the end of the training for the commercial licence and instrument rating. Students need a minimum of 150 hours and must have passed all theoretical examinations in order to commence their multi rating. The requirements are a minimum of 6 hours for the initial rating. When training is combined with the instrument rating, these hours are increased to 15 hours. The training is done on a Piper Twin Comanche. Final testing is completed by a SACAA Designated Examiner.
